Mom left yesterday, so it's time to return to real life, as in, gotta balance my checkbook at some point today to find out how screwed I really am with the ( shiny new carCollapse )
Had a good visit with Mom, although we didn't do much, due to PT's request that I not do too much walking. We went to Quiz Night with a coworker, went to the Arclight to see Red Eye
, had a couple of breakfasts at Marmalade Cafe, went to three Red Sox/Angels games, hit David's Bridal to try on dresses
(they didn't have the navy), and futzed around the Grove for my birthday.
Speaking of, thanks to everyone who wished me birthday happies, and thanks especially to my wonderfully marvelous friends who chipped in and gave me an adorable green mini-iPod, now named Kermit, since iTunes insisted I name it, and since I've been watching the season one Muppet Show dvds that I got from my sister. :-D Kermit, in fact, is playing for me right now
(so far it's a big fan of Cat Stevens), while I transfer more and more songs from WMP to iTunes (yay for drag and drop!). Thanks also to mrlittlesister
for the MacGyver season two dvds, and pawswithclaws
for the Muppet Show dvds! Combined with the Wonder Woman S2, La Femme Nikita S3 and Miracles dvds from Mom and MrMom, I shouldn't be bored at all for a very long time.
ION, spent yesterday with jaanquidam
down in Long Beach. For the first time in the five years I've lived here, I actually went into
the Pacific Ocean, and it was great
! The water was the temp of my swimming pool, so very warm, and the waves were enormous. It took JQ all day to convince me to go to the beach, and then it took him two hours to get me out of the ocean. So!fun! He also took me to my first Indian restaurant, and gave me a bottle of Irish Mist for my birthday, so other than having to say goodbye to my mom, it was a perfect day.
Now, however, it's 91 degrees, so it's feeling less than perfect. Except for the part where I got to see a muppet that was obviously Jim Henson in felt singing a song about going to Morrow.
